Steven Brown was born in Grand Prairie Texas on September 11th, 1962. Four days later, he (and his family) moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas; where he would eventually spend the majority of his formative years. After Graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1980, Steven enlisted in the Navy as an Electronic Warfare Technician, where he would spend the next thirteen years traveling the world. He has traveled coast-to-coast across the United States, visited 27 countries around the world, and completely circumnavigated the globe. In
1993, he took early retirement after being assigned to two ships: the USS
Sampson (DDG-10) out of Mayport, Florida; and
USS
Cleveland (LPD-7) out of San Diego, California; as well as two
assignments on recruiting duty (in Lawton,
Oklahoma and his hometown; Jonesboro, Arkansas); and numerous
schools for training in Electronics, Computer Technology, Communications,
Naval Intelligence, Leadership, etc. After
leaving the Navy, he worked in several fields, such as Music/Youth
Director at a small church; Owner/Technician of a Desktop Publishing
Business; Rural Mail Carrier; Newspaper Proofreader; Field Service
Technician for Micrographic Systems; Computer Systems Analyst for the Missouri
Department of Natural Resources; Corrections Officer in the Missouri
Corrections Department; Copier/Fax Technician; PC
Builder/Technician, and Computer Technology Instructor for Secondary and
Post-Secondary schools (Gibson
Technical Center - Reeds
Spring, Missouri; and Vatterott
College - Springfield,
Missouri). Steven has six children: Melissa - 24; Kimberly - 21; Johnna - 20; Donnie - 20; Jerry - 14; and Stefani - 9. He also has three grandchildren: Brendan, Mikaela and Jerry He has composed more than 40 songs over the past 27 years, and has recorded 20 of those songs on his "Livin' In The Light" project. He is presently working on a new recording project called "From The Heart", which promises to be more inspiring than the last. He has also written two small booklets entitled "Do You Have Eternal Life?" and "Colored People"; and is in the process of writing his autobiography Steven now runs Brown's Computer Services full-time out of his home; manages True Witness Ministries, which he founded in 1998; and is the President of the Missouri Computer Technology Association. He also is one of the newest cast members of the musical drama "The Promise" in Branson, Missouri. |
